A HP Agilent 10529A Logic Comparator was acquired in order to check the TTL IC's in a static way (the instrument cannot detect fast changes in logic states). A known-good IC acts as a standard against which to measure the in-circuit performance of suspected-faulty ICs. Any difference in operation is displayed as an error.
